ʔaq̓am Trading is the retail store and fuel station, for the community of ʔaq̓am.  ʔaq̓am Trading is seeking a self-motivated, energetic and a friendly customer oriented individual to fill the position of Part-Time, Retail Associate. The Retail Associate position will be key to assist in covering shifts when required and will be required to work weekends, holidays, mornings and evenings as required.

 

The Retail Associate is responsible for the following, which includes but is not limited to;

 

• Overall retail store operations, including use of point-of-sale systems, maintaining merchandise displays, following cash management procedures and monitoring cash over/under and inventory

• General cleaning duties, maintaining a fresh and clean atmosphere inside and outside of the store

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, and work colleagues so that we ensure customers always return

• Complete daily paperwork and data entry in a timely manner

• Have the physical ability to perform all duties of a retail associate

• Identify and resolve customer needs in a timely and professional manner

• Adhere to merchandising and vendor policies and procedures

• Adhere to all permitting and license regulations

• Follow safety and security procedures pertaining to the store

• Assist with social media marketing and promotional ideas to help increase store traffic and sales 

• Assist in business development and growth efforts for ʔaq̓am Trading

• Always promoting ʔaq̓am Trading professionally and positively

 

QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES:

 

• Satisfactory completion of grade 12 preferred

• Experience in retail store operations

• Comfortable using computers and point of sale software

• Physically fit and have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Highly motivated, organized and able to prioritize work tasks

• High degree of professionalism when interacting with work colleagues and customers

• Ability to work independently and would like to continually learn

• Valid First Aid Certificate preferred

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

• Must be willing to undergo Criminal Records Check and must be “bondable”
